Black Adam is not that good a movie. Could have used another rewrite, and another round of edits.
However,
It is extremely fucking awesome. Goddamn, these fights are amazing.

As much praise that I give to Hawkman, I also need to give thumbs down to how Tornado was handled. Played by Quintessa Swindell, the movie really didn't lend itself to showcase her as anything other than a prop or an object of affection for Atom Smasher. She deserved a lot better

All that being said, characters made obviously stupid decisions, dialog was campy, they couldn't seem to find the right way to portray Adam and kept bouncing between approaching him like T2 Arnold learning slang and growing a heart, and an adult version of Brightburn.

Music was fine, CG budget needed another 10%, 1st act pacing was like stepping in a little tar pit every 50 feet while walking.
I did love how unapologetic they were about these new characters. 5 new heros and only one backstory, fucking loved that.

I was nervous when I started seeing Max's arc in S3 of L Word, especially seeing how the Alice/Lisa situation was handled, but I love the nuance!!! The girls can be shitty but also understanding and supportive, but then Mac himself can be an asshole. I really like it so far.
