It needs to be said that the Obamas keep elevating black immigrants and not slavery descended blacks.
The Obamas unveil their first-ever commissioned portrait together, painted by Njideka Akunyili Crosby, in the lobby of the new Obama Presidential Library.

Got my nails done at a black nail salon in Charleston. This was the first walk-in nail appointment in my life where the nail tech educated me on the different types of gels and what will keep my nails healthy. #polishedbyTrell

The Christian faith of enslaved Black Americans became the foundation for the Black church, schools, music, revivals, and social movements that reshaped the world. Our church was not just refuge—it became a creative force that transformed Christianity, democracy, & global culture.

JUNE IS NOT THE MONTH YOU QUIT. IT’S THE MONTH YOU RECOVER. God is breathing life into dead places, strength into weary places, and hope into forgotten places. Get ready. RESTORATION IS LOOKING FOR YOUR ADDRESS.

Inglewood Mayor James Butts should never be forgiven for almost singlehandedly selling out the city to rich white capitalists. This place is going to be fully unrecognizable by 2028.

As we approach America's 250th year, we recognize Black labor, Black lives, and Black futures have suffered government-sanctioned harm. Reparative justice means quality jobs, healthcare, economic opportunity, and so much more. When Black communities thrive, everyone thrives.

Sixty-three years ago today, Medgar Evers returned home to his family only to be met with an assassin's bullet before he could even reach his front door. The 37-year old father of three, husband, and NAACP leader's life and voice were stolen from us in a senseless act of racial violence. Today, we honor his courage, his sacrifice, and his unwavering dedication to the fight for justice, equity, and voting rights. His legacy lives on in each of us. May the movement continue to move forward in his memory.
