Nobody asked for the reload redesign? Nobody asked for volumetric smokes. Nobody asked for droppable utility. Maybe you don't know what you want.

> I started making CS maps and gamemaker projects as a teenager as a hobby. > Decided to I wanted to persue game art at university and was offered a place on a course but had second doubts and declined to take it a few weeks before it began. > Had to take a gap year, COVID happened so I was stuck working night shifts in a supermarket and feeling rather lost. > Realised my art skills were not strong enough to get a role in such a competitive industry. > Went to university, this time for Computing and Management having given up the dream of working in game development. > Struggled with the lockdowns to settle in well at uni but online I got to work on Frostbite thanks to some new friends. Valve selected it for addition to CS:GO. > Fast forward many more Counter-Strike maps and I was offered a remote role along side my studies off the back of my personal work for the game. > In 2023 I completed my degree and moved to Amsterdam to persue a full time career as a Level Designer. Like most people in games, my route in wasn't straight forward. Ultimately it was great people around me and the time spent enjoying it as a hobby which opened doors.
What’s the lore behind choosing your career path ?
