Today I had the honor of attending Blythewood Middle School’s Military Child Breakfast, and it was truly a meaningful event.
Hearing directly from students about what it is like to be a military child was powerful. Their stories were filled with strength, resilience, sacrifice, and pride. Military children often serve in their own way through constant change, long separations, new schools, and the challenges that come with military family life. They deserve to be recognized and celebrated. Veterans chose to serve but our kids were born into the service of this nation.
I also want to thank Principal Mrs. Mazyck and Assistant Principal Mr. Jones for their outstanding remarks and for the care they show these students. It was clear that Blythewood Middle School is intentional about honoring military-connected families and creating a school environment where students feel seen, valued, and supported.
There was also another event, students were also able to take part in the Career Fair, which gave them the opportunity to learn about Military Life, REALTOR® Life, and many other career paths. Events like this are so important because they not only celebrate our students, but also help them start thinking about the many opportunities that can shape their future.
Blythewood Middle School continues to do a great job creating meaningful experiences for students, and I was grateful to be there and witness it firsthand.
