The major application deadlines have past….and you didn’t draw a tag.
Every year odds change, rules change, and tags seem to get harder and harder to draw, BUT….
….it doesn’t have to feel this way.
Let us show you how an application strategy can help you maximize your time.
One of our favorite shots on the 3D course, an 82 yard caribou from an elevated platform.
Depending on time of day, the wind can really make you happy to say “foam is home” 😂
If you are going to the Wyoming Range Hunting & Fishing Expo. this weekend, make sure to stop by and let’s talk some hunting!
Most of application season is over, but it’s never to soon to get plans in place for 2027 and beyond.
Let’s get you ready for whatever your next hunt is
Now for the final advice
6. Keep your first hunt affordable.
A basic western setup, a good mapping app, and a solid plan can absolutely get it done.
7. Hunt more often.
Antelope are the perfect species to:
- Build confidence
- Create future elk/mule deer strategies
Part II.
Focus on easier-to-draw units first
Your first hunt should teach you:
- Glassing
- Stalking
- Western navigation
- Shot execution in open country
- Public land hunting
4. Start building points while still hunting
You don’t want to spend 8 years “waiting to start.”
We get a lot of questions on beginners strategy to hunting out west.
A beginner antelope strategy should focus on one thing first: OPPORTUNITY.
- Draw odds are generally better
- Hunts are more affordable
- high success
Prioritize States With Good Opportunity

We don’t sell hunts that haven't been vetted...
That level of insight changes everything:
- Better expectations going into the hunt
- Fewer surprises
- More confidence in your decisions
- A higher likelihood of a successful, enjoyable experience
Let’s find your next hunt!
You can wait 15 years for one “dream tag”…OR
You can be in the field every year.
We build strategies that stack opportunity, not delay it:
More days in the field =
- More encounters
- More lessons
- More confidence
- More success
This isn’t about giving up on big hunts.
