I predict Uruguay will play their match with Saudi Arabia with no problems, and the OP will quickly move on and make no attempt to correct this fictional visa story.
Uruguay the 3rd best team in South America and the 16th best team in the world, who are due to play Saudi Arabia tomorrow cannot enter the USA. Because the USA will not allow them due to 'visa issues'. The racist World Cup continues to be a disgusting joke.

As if I needed reminding why I will never vote Green while this man is leading the party, here he is again with another hot take 🙄
Gut wrenching to see four young people jailed for direct action against an arms supplier to Israel. Years in prison for protesting to save lives in Gaza, with 'terrorism' used despite no jury convicting them of it. A truly dangerous attack on the right to protest.

A video is being shared with claims it shows a female Israeli soldier taking her own life after denouncing military atrocities. But the footage is actually a scene from an Egyptian television series. fullfact.org/conflict/israel…

It's not as though anyone could claim to accidentally hit Galati while trying to hit Ukraine - Galati is nowhere near the Romania-Ukraine border.

Maybe Tom should read my book from 5 years ago, in which I write that students with trauma need calm, predictable classrooms with secure routines as much, if not more so than other children.
Some wonderful sense from @PCSnow1604 about the best environment for students with trauma: calm, predictable, adult authority, routine. But ‘trauma-informed’ so often dissolves into endless permissiveness, low expectations, and inconsistency. Which is the *opposite* of what they need. pamelasnow.blogspot.com/2026…

I see so many posts on here insisting that knowledge precedes creativity. And then there's Tim Minchin, writer of incredibly successful musical, Matilda, explaining on TV today that he can neither read nor write music 🤔

An unfortunate slip of the pen. Who among us hasn't written "Jewish cockroaches" when we meant to refer to how happy we are to live in a country alongside our fellow Jews? So easily done.
Raja Ateeq, who is standing in the Rushall Shelfield ward in Walsall, posted in December 2023, referring to “Jewish cockroaches”. A Green spokesman said: “Mr Ateeq has removed the tweet and recognises that it was wrong to have posted it.” telegraph.co.uk/gift/d40f587…

Alistair Campbell, sad because the HoL took issue with a bill that was promised to a celeb, never in a manifesto, and squirrelled into the HoC as a private members bill with rumours that Lab MPs were pressured to vote for it, has the nerve to call HoL undemocratic.
The conduct of a tiny minority in the House of Lords who have used every tactic imaginable to make sure the Assisted Dying Bill fails has been awful. I have long believed the Lords is simply not fit for purpose as a second chamber. This has cemented my view hard, and I imagine will make others realise just how ludicrous our legislative systems are. Sad day.

Fellow adoptees, I need your help! I'm doing a journalism project on how the NHS treats adoptees, including a survey. It's anonymous and will take 5-15 minutes to do. More info in the survey. #adoption #adopteerights #adopteehealth forms.gle/xXeiGJ1fJcrZbjfu7

Well, you're not. So, there's that, I suppose.
For whoever needs to hear this I'm the only Jewish person to lead a political party - third largest in the country. The Daily Mail have been & always will be my enemy - they historically supported fascists & continue to do so. I'll take no lectures from them on Antisemitism.

Is it just me, or does 30 minutes not really seem like a lot out of a whole working week when some schools have more than 1000 children?
Schools should not be ‘call centres’, warns teaching union as research reveals that nearly half of SLT staff spend more than 30 minutes a week calling parents tes.com/magazine/news/genera…

Having said that, I agree that schools should not be calling parents over every behavioural infraction - can't imagine parents want that either.
