This #worldchocolateday create your own chocolate discs to a 17th century recipe!
In 1687 Mary Goodson began a handwritten recipe book. One featuring instructions to create medicines, drinks & food.
Dr Amanda Herbert helped us recreate the flavours of Mrs Goodson’s chocolate.
The recipe includes flavours we today would not assume would go into chocolate with ingredients native to many parts of the world beyond England including; cinnamon, long pepper, achiote (or annatto) & aniseed.
