📢 Our upcoming May 2026 Hong Kong release — We’re Nothing at All 我們不是什麼 — is set for UK cinemas on 29 May! This is a darker side of Hong Kong that you’ve rarely seen on the big screen... 👀
Written and directed by Herman Yau, and starring Patrick Tam, Anson Kong and Ansonbean, the film picked up the Audience Choice Award at the Hong Kong International Film Festival before heading into competition at the Far East Film Festival in Udine.
Loosely drawn from a 1998 Wuhan incident, this social drama follows a retired forensic expert investigating a Valentine’s Day bus explosion traced to two passengers: Fai and Ike, a gay couple from disadvantaged backgrounds living apart from mainstream society. His inquiry surfaces a history of abuse, homophobia, and despair, and the film uses the tragedy to probe questions of moral accountability and collective indifference in Hong Kong.
