The good, the bad and the ugly!
#QuakeProLeague started as a overpriced Million Dollar Baby, and first season was actually amazing with idea of midseasons leading to LAN Tournaments after each 4 or so months. We had 2 and COVID...BUT Hype was real and it had meaning for players.
This is what potencial community driven World Tour should in my eyes be aiming at - hi
@KeenconGaming ,
@TeamEndpoint,
@MyztroGaming ,
@AsterEsports,
@RESPstudio,
@EstotyGames,
@qcgermany,
@QuakePolska,
@kuachicups,
@uNleashed_jp
- I mean, I would try to help to my best abilities
But in general I dont think Quake Family can collect prizemoney to justify expences of professional teams to travel players to the location each 4 months. Money allowing players to fully work on theirs skills and proper coverage by media and casters. Not to mention such project should activate at least 32 to 64 players on various levels.
So far, regular content for
@Quake is still there, but we lack reach of
@bethesda official channels shielding the events in any way, shape or form. That is according to me biggest problem we had and still have at this moment.
Best players of the world at
#TheFoundryLAN last weekend and no mentions?
Best players of the world are meeting at
#BarcelonaKeenCon2023 and I for sure hope we will see how exploring of new opportunities and collaboration with community members looks like.
No matter what will happend in the future with our favourite franchise, I for sure hope for more active and stronger connection between IP owners and theirs community.
If I would be responsible for community of whatever title; I want to be 2nd in the World to know what the fuck is going on, while 1st person is in charge of that activity or project and I explore or at least do council, beacuse he knows I am there for that reason.
Lack of communication and feeling of disconnection in Gaming Industry are lately clearly visible as it leads to downfalls of companies such as
@Blizzard_Ent on one hand and insane ovations
@larianstudios are receiving for job well done on the other. Still I think you are insane
@LarAtLarian🍻 And I love the dedication🥰
What is now needed more than ever by
@idSoftware is understanding that market is changing and close connection to consumers and base understanding of healthy enviorment and dedication is substantial to success.
Maybe presence of
@ID_AA_Carmack at
@QuakeCon and his 30th
@DOOM Anniversary stream with
@romero are good signs that things are changing.
Hopefully
@Microsoft can offer some stability and hype to those involved.
Quake Champions is full of amazing ideas, ideas that - sadly - could not be explored to its maximum potencial thanks to complications within core of this game. Even the breavest and most dadicated man I met can`t do miracles. And I believe in several cases he actually did.
Closing of
#QuakeProLeague was expected in a way. Although whole format of year long season with finals at
@QuakeCon created weekly content, but whole regular season basically ment nothing for World Championship. It was also hard to create story for each single player; watch their growth and dedication they put to parcise. In fact nobody actually tried to do so.
I have great memories of QPL and I for sure hope for some successor of highest and best competition of Quake, but I hope it will be taken with the care of a proper householder.
Quake FAMILY Forever❣️
