Hormone-free infertility treatment....well, here we are finally...it's a clinical reality!! 20 years ago, our old IVM alliance: myself, @jeremygthompso2, Johan Smitz and @MdevosMD made this our aspirational goal. Now Dr Lan Vuong and @TuongMHo got there!!

What an achievement from @TuongMHo and the @research_hope , completely hormone-free ART with good pregnancy outcomes. Only possible with an advanced IVM system. Awesome - we have been waiting a long time to get to this point. Congrats!!

Hormone-free ART for PCOS women | Presented at ESHRE 2024 to a large audience.
It is feasible and efficient. Single blastocyst transfer with good pregnancy outcome.

fantastic work @TuongMHo @research_hope . OTO-IVM (ex vivo IVM; immature oocytes from ovarian tissue) is a no-brainer for fertility preservation for a lab routinely running IVM for infertility treatment. Easy peasy !!

OTO & CAPA IVM | We retrieved immature oocytes from ovarian tissue, applied biphasic IVM. We got 22 MII oocytes for vitrification in this case. Really potential !

Wow..!! Zero stimulation ART is a thing! This is what can be achieved when you have an excellent quality and very experienced IVM clinic. Congrats @TuongMHo and @research_hope

Why stimulation for PCO women?
Today we have 4 cases of IVM for PCO. We collected at least 20 oocytes each, without any gonadotropin priming. Our maturation rate is > 60%. > 90% of our IVM cases have blastocysts for transfers.

Good question … An inverse relationship between the oocyte developmental status at collection and the length of pre-IVM culture has been hypothesized (Gilchrist et al. 2024) @RG_EggLab. Oocyte developmental status depends on gonadotropin (dose) priming, follicle size. #ESHREjc

At least 10% IVF patients should not have ovarian stimulation, to get enough embryos for high accumulative live birth rate per OPU.

I do not believe we should see IVM as replacing IVF. However IVM should be acknowledge for their advantages and should be considered as a complementary tool available for the treatment of a selected groups of patients (hyperresponders) within a conventional IVF program. #ESHREjc
