When the public pays for private schooling, will the public get to decide how taxpayer dollars are used in private schools, or will the public be forced to abandon norms as fundamental as nondiscrimination? W/ @DerekWBlack @ACLU @USATODAY #vted #vtpoli usatoday.com/story/opinion/2…

Religious municipalities, hmm. When I was in 7th grade, living in Afghanistan, we called this theocracy.

Analysis: If every other nonprofit is allowed to run a public charter school, isn’t it anti-religious discrimination to exclude faith-based orgs? buff.ly/3ZJqGa0

I left a school I taught at for almost 10 years on 1/2 and started at another on 1/3 with a 40% raise. Gave notice at that job on Monday and start outside of education soon with another 10%. I’ve gotten a 50% raise in < two months and all I had to do was leave teaching. Bye. ✌🏻

What if we thought about this as a housing problem, not a school problem? VT faces an acute shortage of housing. At the same time, our population has aged. That means we have the same number of households, but fewer households with children. #vtpoli vtdigger.org/2022/11/17/vote…

1/ Marriage equality was a hard earned victory for #LGTBQ Americans, won in the courts, not the halls of our legislative bodies. The #SCOTUS decision in Obergefell finally gave same-sex couples in all 50 states the right to full, equal recognition under the law.

14/ The passage of the #RespectforMarriageAct is an important commitment to fairness and freedom to love and live. It is also yet another opportunity to recognize how fragile justice is in the face of a radicalized court. #vtpoli

15/ I’m grateful for this Act and to those who supported it. This act is a reminder to exercise our responsibility to stand with and protect those whose fundamental dignity and rights this court would strip.
