How well has that tweet aged? Really, really well, I trust? x.com/EricLDaugh/status/2062…

Oh no! It turns out science is important, after all. x.com/factpostnews/status/20…

The Reflecting Pool is currently experiencing an algae outgrowth, indicating high pH conditions. Such a high pH is known to strip paint, potentially ruining Trump's $14M paint renovation.

💗 What an incredible day for Indi Atkinson and her family – and what an incredible response from Withernsea! Indi, from Hull, is just four years old and has terminal brain cancer, and her family are trying to create as many special memories with her as possible. One of Indi's bucket-list wishes was to go on a trip to the seaside, so, on Sunday, the town came out in force as an estimated 500 bikers rode in from across Yorkshire and beyond, with hundreds of people lining the seafront to give her the warmest Withernsea welcome possible – many of them wearing bright pink for Indi. Indi was met by @WithernseaTC mayor Cllr Kristina Richardson, with music at Castle Cafe. Also there to greet Indi were the team from @BlueLightWsea who brought mascots and their foam and bubble machines, plus crews from @rnliwith, Withernsea Fire Station, @HMCGWithernsea and many more. More pics and full story next week.

Even if this was true, it fails to explain why the person in question could not simply have been charged with assault, why the group were charged with terrorism offences, and why they had to be denied a fair trial in order to achieve that outcome. x.com/LoftusSteve/status/206…

She was off work for 3 months. Is still on restricted duties over a year later. She had to give up her Sergeant Rank because she couldn't do the role. But it's OK, her spine wasn't actually shattered. Out of sheer luck.

No police officer had their spine broken, and there's no evidence that it was deliberate assault. People are being convicted as terrorists when they've not perpetrated any acts of terrorism. So it's very easy to understand the objections. x.com/BennettArron/status/20…

I can’t understand how so many comedian friends are angry that the demonstrators who broke the spine of a police officer have been jailed. What am I missing??

Who are we at war with? Or are we just at war with no-one - arguably the most elusive enemy of them all? x.com/AlistairCarns/status/2…

We need to get out of this mindset that wars are won by soldiers alone. They're won by supply chains, factories and the country behind them. That's the conversation we need to have.

We should leave players to get severely ill from heat exhaustion, rather than disrupt play for a couple of minutes. This is just commonsense.
“hydration break” just as Morocco scored and have all the momentum on their side. genuinely the worst thing this World Cup has introduced man

Anyway, it's good to see World Cup fever setting in. All the takes so far have been normal, and sensible. I want to see days of discourse about how scoring goals is fascist, and the offside rule is ableist (etc).

The New Socialist publishing a 50,000 word essay explaining how football is the obstacle to communist revolution. Novara publishing a piece advocating armed police in football stadiums. That's the good stuff.

This is a parody account - it even says so in the bio; and yet a lot of people are taking it at face value, thinking it's a genuine fan of Elon. x.com/chasedownleads/status/…

The 'surge' was caused by the Covid pandemic. What's being advocated here, quite dishonestly, is withdrawing support from people who are ill/disabled, and then giving it to weapons manufacturers. x.com/FraserNelson/status/20…

Returning sickness benefit levels to pre-surge levels would release all money needed for defence.

GBH could have been prosecuted under existing laws, and it fails to explain why all members of the group have been charged with terrorism, or why the legal system has been abrogated to convict them. x.com/benjaminbutter/status/…

Samuel Corner was convicted of causing grievous bodily harm after he fractured Sgt Kate Evans' spine with a sledgehammer in a raid. Sgt Evans held back tears as she read an impact statement to the court which revealed she was still receiving medical treatment and had been forced to give up her rank after struggling in the aftermath of the attack. "The emotional impact of this incident has been profound and ongoing. "I experience disturbed sleep, often waking in a panicked state or after distressing dreams”.

Who are these 'enemies'? If they're not deterred by nuclear weapons then why would conventional armaments make any odds - and for that matter, what use would retaining a nuclear deterrent be? x.com/Steven_Swinford/status…

One hell of a letter in The Times today from General Sir Nick Carter, a former head of the armed forces He warns that Britain risks becoming ‘Belgium with nuclear weapons’ unless it spends more on defence ‘Successive governments have hollowed our armed forces out to such a degree that if we do not spend what is needed now to arrest that decline, and transform them for the modern world, we risk becoming Belgium with nuclear weapons. And our enemies are watching’ Times letters: Britain’s slide down the Nato league table thetimes.com/article/5c37102…

People seem to imagine that a billionaire's money just appears out of nowhere, rather than being taken from the poor and given to the wealthy. x.com/Geiger_Capital/status/…

If you taxed 100% of Elon’s net worth, confiscated every penny, you could fund the current US government for about… 49 days. We don’t have a revenue problem. We have a welfare spending problem.

If something approaching meritocracy really existed, why would it matter if you confiscated all of Elon Musk's wealth? Surely his innate talents would mean he made it all back from nothing in no time? Or is that not the case?

Lots of things, really. An AI tool which enabled people to create obscene images. A self-combusting truck. Unprecedented levels of embarrassing behaviour - like using his own mother's Twitter account as an alt to tell everyone he's cool. x.com/catgirlprostate/status…

Name one thing Elon himself actually invented, and not just something from a company he bought
