This evening @YorkMinChoir travelled to Ripon to join voices with their cathedral choir at Choral Evensong. This was a great celebration of the musical heritage shared by our two cathedrals. Alex and Evie, two members of our back row, were both Ripon choristers... 🧵

🪈shame there's no organ pipe emoji 3️⃣ It took 3 years for organ specialists Harrison and Harrison to carefully restore the 1830s York Minster Grand Organ to full voice. Its 5000 pipes were overhauled, cleaned, painted, and returned in time for Lent services in 2021.
