Checking in from limbo w/ a fun fact relevant to my personal AND professional interests: taking your child to a hospital-owned clinic for an EKG and 45 min cardio consult yields a $4,000 facility charge before the doctor even says hello, and you won't find out for months.
We never got any notice that using this in-network provider would result in this kind of fee. These outrageous billing practices are why so many Americans are angry about US (lack of) healthcare - and so many are sick and broke because of it.
ICYMI: late Friday, the FTC dropped the news that it is abandoning its defense of the critically important noncompete rule. This is a massive betrayal of working people who deserve the freedom to get a job that pays them what they are worth. My dissent: ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov…
Playing catch up here: The @FTC should not be using its tools to target political adversaries/advance political grievances. If you’ve received an improper inquiry from the FTC, pls reach out to me directly. I’m a hard no on the Trump FTC's lawfare.

The FTC won’t link it in the release, but I put out a dissenting statement on today’s order banning Gateway’s noncompetes. A ban is fine, but not good enough because it doesn’t touch the structural problems in this PE rollup market. ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov…
Back at my desk, back online, and have already moved to reinstitute the Click to Cancel Rule. Hope a majority of the Commission will join me - all Americans deserve to be protected from abusive subscription traps.
Amid the efforts by the Trump admin to illegally abolish independent agencies, incl the Federal Reserve, I'm glad the court has recognized that he is not above the law. I’m eager to get back first thing tomorrow to the work I was entrusted to do on behalf of the American people.
Excited to be heading into the office this am! Top of the to-do list: calling a vote on restoring the Click to Cancel Rule. It’s time the FTC gets back to protecting consumers from real abuses like subscription traps that cost Americans countless hours and millions of dollars.
Today is such an important day, I'm coming out of Twitter hibernation to share some thoughts on the @FTC's big announcement - we're opening a record to explore rulemaking in the areas of commercial surveillance and data security. My full statement: ftc.gov/legal-library/browse…
And finally, I want to acknowledge how much I benefit from and respect the perspectives of my Republican colleagues, @FTCPhillips and @CSWilsonFTC. While I don't agree with their dissents, their input has improved our thinking and the end product.
Each of the Commissioner's individual statements on the ANPR are linked in this press release, and I recommend reading them all. ftc.gov/news-events/news/pre…
