While families are struggling with affordability, local governments are spending millions on projects that don’t lower your bills. Case in point: Tempe just spent $2 MILLION on a decorative Mill Avenue sign as part of a larger “refresh” project. At the same time, cities across Arizona are claiming they “need” to raise taxes and fees to cover budget gaps. Let’s be clear: This isn’t about necessity—it’s about priorities. If local governments can afford multimillion-dollar vanity projects, they can afford to stop coming back to taxpayers for more.
