This puppy was hit by a car and left lying injured in the cold for days 💔 She could barely move properly. Someone covered her to try to protect her from the weather, and another person briefly bandaged her legs, but no one took her to a clinic. No one stayed to make sure she was actually safe. So she waited there in pain, frightened, and alone. Then one of our ROLDA Rescue Heroes stepped in. She refused to walk away or accept that this puppy had already been “helped enough.” She took her straight to the veterinary clinic, where X-rays were done, and proper treatment finally began. She was so terrified when help arrived that we had to use a net to catch her to try to bring her in without causing any further injuries. She is now safe, receiving the care she urgently needed, and finally has people fighting for her recovery every step of the way. ❤️‍🩹 At ROLDA, we will always step in for animals who have no one else. Flora was abandoned alone on a mountain peak in an area so dangerous for small dogs that she likely would not have survived much longer 😔 Nearby were large sheepfold dogs known to attack and kill smaller animals. Flora was tiny, vulnerable, and completely defenceless. Thankfully, one of our ROLDA Rescue Heroes acted quickly and brought her to the shelter before taking her home to look after her. When we rescued her, we discovered she had a dislocated kneecap that had been left untreated for so long it had calcified against her leg bone. Despite living in constant discomfort, she was still being used for breeding. We immediately rushed her to surgery to reposition her kneecap, but her journey is far from over. Over the next few months, Coca will need further operations on both back legs, followed by ongoing physiotherapy to help her rebuild strength and mobility. These little Bichons were abandoned when they stopped being profitable 😔 They had been bought for one reason: to produce puppies that could be sold for money. When that plan failed, they were discarded. A sad reality we see far too often. One of our ROLDA Rescue Heroes found them just in time. They were covered in ticks, severely neglected, exhausted, and all suffering from babesiosis, a potentially fatal disease caused by tick bites. During grooming, the clippers repeatedly jammed because their coats were so matted with dirt and neglect. What should have been soft white fur had become painful, heavy layers they had been forced to live in for far too long. This is the reality behind so many backyard breeding operations and puppy mills. Once animals stop making money, they are abandoned to suffer alone. Thankfully, these girls are now safe. They are receiving treatment, proper care, and the chance to finally experience kindness and comfort. Nessi should be someone’s lapdog. Instead, she was found on the frontlines of war in Ukraine, fighting to survive. She was brought to one of our ROLDA Heroes, Irina, by the military. In the middle of destruction, someone thankfully refused to leave her behind. Once she was safe at the shelter, the reality of her condition became clear. Poor Nessi is very ill. She is struggling with heart and lung problems, and her body is weakened by a severe inflammatory condition. Right now, every breath is an effort. A ROLDA Hero in Palestine found a mother cat who had sadly been hit by a car and killed. Her three kittens were still beside her, trying to nurse 💔 The rescuer took them home, where his children gave their mother a proper burial and helped care for the kittens. At first, they refused milk, but with time, warmth, and patience, they’ve started eating and are recovering really well.
