In my opinion Rupert Lowe is currently offering the ‘sensible nationalism’ coined by Homeland but attempted by people from outside the traditional nationalist sphere. This means it will be sloppy at times and they will be much more timid in their approach and rhetoric because they do not have the pedigree. A good example is Restore offering a referendum on the death penalty instead of pledging to implement it unequivocally. This is also apparent when they talk about demographics, identity and foreign influence. “Demographic change bad, ethnicity is hereditary and being told to enter Foreign wars by 3rd parties also bad.” Anyone arguing that these are not the foundations of the party at large is simply not doing so in good faith. But Kipper is right, this cannot really be considered nationalism. An acorn is not an oak tree. It is simply the bare minimum to not be considered treacherous and untill these principles are spoken without awkwardness, expanded on and policy drawn directly from these ideas, it can’t be described as such. I do believe this is where a large portion of the White electorate is at however. It is taking forever for us as a collective to accept the fact that these things are even ‘bad’, let alone the reasons why they happened. It will take even longer for many to come to terms with the magnitude of what will be required to fix these problems. Homeland deserve a lot of credit for realising that you have to be there waiting at the other side of the liberal/civic hurdle, whereas nationalist parties of the past expected people to meet them a mile down the road after accepting reality. The difference between Homeland and Restore is that this was not a conscious decision in the founding of the party and is merely a reaction to the reality and the current political offering. Many members and some officials (including Rupert himself) are for the first time venturing outside the liberal framework of ideas. This will have a lot of downside and will require many of us to either bite our tongues or chimp out on occasion but it is an organic reflection of the journey that many are taking politically, without the baggage that accompanies traditional nationalism. There is also a wealth of experience that they can draw upon and I think it’s essential that people that have way more experience than me in these circles, not only help steer the party in the right direction but also prevent a total retreat back to the safety of liberalism. This is only possible because outward facing nationalists are welcome and listened to. Many have underestimated the significance of the parties refusal to disavow Steve Laws and the reinstatement of Jim Munro. I think Restore Britain is a vehicle to ultimately get our sovereignty back as a people. Reform have reached the ceiling in rhetoric and policy that a civic framework allows. Their job is done and what they’re promising and more can be achieved by a Restore government. We just don’t have the time to waste.

And this is from earlier this week. Becky is out every single day, speaking to Makerfield residents and businesses. It's getting rather boring to have to keep repeating this. I’ll put my hands up and say that I was wrong in the way I covered Southampton, and I definitely needed to be more cautious in how I reported on events.
