My new album, Cusp, is a love letter to the 1970's and to the healing, hope and redemption found in the liminal states of loss, longing and grief. Out Oct 21st.

I’ve met rock stars, movie stars, millionaires, academics, models, surgeons. None of them have impressed me more than people who have been kind. Kindness trumps all talents, status and attributes. Kindness is love in action. #kindness #BeKind ❤️

“I think I’m greedy, but I’m not greedy for money – I think that can be a burden…I can find excitement, I admit, in raindrops falling on a puddle and a lot of people wouldn’t. I intend to have it exciting until the day I fall over.” RIP David Hockney

Just over a week to go until you can capture this song for yourself! It’s the first song I’ve written that started as a dream. It’s in honour of Marc Bolan- the Silver Dreamer- I saw blissfully travelling through the Cosmos in my dream. He seemed completely free of all earthly concerns. I long to feel that free. It’s hard being a human with all the heaviness of this planet. And at the same time there is beauty if we look and the promise of even more beyond that…. We just have to carry on, not give up, keep being curious about life, ourselves and each other. Sending you all love. ❤️ #cinematicfolk #indiemusic #cornwall #marcbolan

Here are some photos from my evening walk. Let’s keep our beautiful planet free of data centres. And please can we get rid of the ones already built. And can we please get rid of AI altogether. Also, here’s a clip of my Marc Bolan inspired song, Silver Dreamer, which is out on June 21st. #DataCentres #AI #CinematicFolk

Whilst we were distracted, the groundwork for our AI control grid has slowly been growing. The map below shows Data Centers in Britain. Each one of these data centres use up to 5 million gallons of water per day and enough energy to supply 50,000 homes.

I saw Marc Bolan in a dream. He was wearing a silver sequinned jumpsuit and dancing in the night sky and through the universe. He was completely, blissfully free and at one with the cosmos. In the song I ask him if we all get to feel like this someday. Silver Dreamer is on June 21st. #cinematicfolk #indiemusic #folk #cornwall

AI oligarchs have stolen the creative work of millions of people — writers, artists, musicians, journalists, teachers, scientists and ordinary citizens. It’s time for us to reclaim it.

Val McDermid turns 71 today. In February, the Scottish crime writer warned that writers are facing a 'massive threat' from artificial intelligence. She said: "AI can produce a certain kind of book and it is learning all the time. The only reason it can produce any books at all is because it's stolen out of all of our texts. All of our texts have been scraped. “They have taken 150 pieces of my work, for which I've had no recompense, they’ve not asked my permission and I have no say in what they do. “There are court cases on the way now, but it's tip of the iceberg stuff. “There was never any point when they sought a partnership with creatives. They just stole our work and ripped us off." The author said she was confident that writers would always have a way of writing in a way “that cannot be replicated by a machine.” She added: “A machine can pretend to have feelings, but it doesn't have feelings and it doesn’t understand emotions at the deep level that we do that. “Sometimes when you are reading a book and an event happens you expect the characters to behave in a particular way, but they don't. “They respond in a different way because they are human because they have a range of possibilities. “I think the human writer will always have a head-start on the machines for that.” 👇

Officially 1 month since I switched to a flip phone. - Everyone is more severely addicted to their smartphones than I thought. Once you have a dumbphone, you'll frequently find yourself as the only person in the room not on their phone. It's not just teenagers, it's parents and adults of all ages. It's like everyone is stuck in a trance. 75 year olds might be the only exception. - All the objections I previously had for getting a dumbphone have turned out to be overblown and/or solvable. My iPhone addiction had fed my brain excuses to not do this earlier. If you really want to make the switch, you can. - I've felt embarrassed to pull out my flip phone in public at times, for fear of being different or drawing too much attention to myself. But I have learned to just own up to it. Most people end up saying something like "Oh, I probably should do that too." - I am using my brain more. Even though my flip phone has Waze, I find myself memorizing maps and roads. I'm more bored and get lost in my thoughts. I'm using paper and pen more. Increased desire for tangible things > digital things. Overall, it has been a great experience and I plan on never going back.

This is heart breaking. A progressive society takes care of its people.
Our seniors are struggling in America, there is an affordability crisis in America This is Miss Ruby and she’s still forced to work as this age and physical state But she’s not the only one, there is a horrifying growing trend for seniors in America - A record 12.5 million senior households, more than 1 in 3 seniors, are “house poor,” spending over 30% of their income on housing - 45% of Senior Households Can’t Cover Basics - 80% Are Financially Vulnerable - Nearly 12 million Americans aged 65 are still working, the highest rate in decades - Nearly 14 million seniors face food insecurity - 58% of older renters are cost-burdened, spending over 30% of income on rent Here’s the worst part. Low-income seniors die an average of 9 years earlier than high-income seniors This can’t continue in America. We are going in the wrong direction

We are now in a weird era where a guy gets publicly shamed for running his sprinklers on a Tuesday, while a data center the size of a Costco quietly drains a reservoir so AI can generate a picture of your cat as a medieval knight. And the data center gets a tax incentive for it.
