"Will AI replace us?"
Guys. Stop.
Every layer of computing was built on top of the one before it. And every single time, the old guard swore the new one wasn't real engineering:
• Switches and punch cards
• Binary, 1s and 0s
• Machine code
• Assembly
• Fortran, COBOL
• C
• C , Java
• Python and managed languages
• Frameworks and libraries
• The cloud, containers
• No-code, serverless
• LLMs
Every rung, someone panicked. Every rung, they were wrong.
A senior shipping at the top of that stack today isn't worse than someone hand-coding machine language in 1965. Same brain. Taller ladder.
The LLM is just the next rung.
You're not being replaced. The floor is moving up, again. Climb or complain.
I complained too, by the way... then I got back to work.
