The latest Roman Anthony update. Yesterday he swung a fungo bat, 5-7 light swings, but he still felt pain. Still not sure when he'll swing a bat again. No mentions of surgery.
#RedSox CEO Sam Kennedy, the exec who brought us Bloom & Breslow, and who helped to show Dombrowski the door, insists Bres’ job is secure, but hints at sell-off: “Unless things change dramatically, we may have to pivot here from what our initial planning was.” boston.com/sports/boston-red…
Even here in Italy, word spreads fast that #RedSox today became the first #MLB team since 1900 in which the first 3 batters in the lineup struck out in each of their first 3 plate appearances, according to Elias.
An unfathomably, historically bad season keeps reaching new lows.
#RedSox have now made 11 outs at home plate this season. Tied with #Marlins for most in #MLB. Nearly double the league average.
BOS made 15 such outs in all of 2025.
Why are #RedSox so terrible at home this season?
It's not "the ballpark." It's not Jahmai's pants. It's these players failing to produce, these coaches unable to turn it around, but mostly it's this front office that built a thumpless, un-entertaining roster not ready for big league competition.
15th time #RedSox have been limited to 2 or fewer runs at home this season. Only #Angels have more such games in baseball (16).
BOS now 2-13 in such games. #MLB
16-game on-base streak for #RedSox Jarren Duran. He's 21-for-64 (.328) in that time with 3 doubles, 2 triples, 6 home runs, 16 RBI, and 11 runs scored. 8 walks to 23 strikeouts over that stretch.
Mickey Gasper is batting .333 for the Red Sox, cementing himself as a catcher, and trying to make the most of it all:
“I just hope that they’re learning from me what it takes for the little guy to get up to here, and play his heart out.”

Arguably, that's the best #RedSox game we've seen this season, fans. An exciting, back-and-forth affair that ends with a BOS win today and a series win vs #Guardians.
Best possible outcome the Nation can possibly want on this Sunday afternoon.
Everything about Sunday's #RedSox win came down to Wilyer Abreu's 2-out, bases loaded walk in the 7th. Not only did it tie the game, it extended the inning for RBIs on singles by Masataka Yoshida, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, and a bases-clearing triple for Caleb Durbin.
#RedSox Interim Manager Chad Tracy on today's series win: "Come back and win the game yesterday and then, at one point, be trailing late today, fight back, and put a big number up there and win a series. Now you have an off day and you're going home. That's a big win today."
#RedSox Jarren Duran finishes the month of May with 9 home runs, including HR in back-to-back games of this series. It's his most HR and also his most RBI (22) in any single month of his career.
#RedSox starting pitching in this series at #Guardians wasn't great. 6.75 ERA over the 3 games, but the bullpen was lights-out, did not allow an earned run. And BOS bats came around, with a team AVG of .304 in this set, with 11 extra-base hits and a .804 team OPS.
