The Scramble continues to be a very enjoyable event to attend, helped today by the sunshine. @EncorDesign Series 1 looks and, just as importantly, sounds wonderful

It’s been great fun to be part of @theintercoolerx journey from the beginning. These digital publishing award nominations are very welcome and recognise the team’s genuine achievements. It’s flattering to be considered alongside many much larger and established publications.
It’s not every day a small independent publishing company like ours is shortlisted for an award alongside household brands like The Sun and The Telegraph, but today is one such day. The Digital Publishing Awards 2026 shortlists were announced this morning and we’re beyond proud to say The Intercooler has been nominated in two categories – Best Online Brand: Consumer and Small Digital Publisher of the Year.   The timing is just about perfect too – we launched The Intercooler as a new kind of online car magazine five years ago this week. We didn’t imagine we’d be keeping such esteemed company only a few short years later.  The other nominees in the Best Online Brand: Consumer category are Radio Times and Rock Sound, as well as The Sun and The Telegraph. And in the Small Digital Publisher of the Year category we’ll go up against Solli, SoPublishing and Trending Now. The winners will be announced on 11 June and while it would be wonderful to scoop an award or two, we are delighted just to have been shortlisted. We wish all the other nominees in the various categories the very best of luck.

My wife suggested that we really needed a sensible 4 door, 4 seat family saloon. So we now have one courtesy of Tony and team @AstonMartinWork

My first 2026 drive in the GTO. For some reason, when I don’t drive this car for a while I forget quite how good it is. In my view the F140 CE V12 is one of Ferrari’s best ever in terms of responsiveness, power and sound.

It’s remarkable that @SilverstoneUK track days make it so hard to find a phone number on their website. When you do find it, you just get a voicemail that is ignored. The same for emails. Melindi @goldtrackdays can show you how to do customer service properly if you’d like

Love this time of year. The daffodils are out as are my cars. Off to @JZMPorsche for an MOT and service ready for a fun motoring season - potholes permitting….

I had a wonderful Honda day today. Certainly better than Aston Martin F1’s recent Honda days, and probably more miles covered……

Just been through Palma de Mallorca airport for my flight home, although sadly here for business not pleasure. Just a fantastic experience. Clean, really efficient and friendly, helpful staff. @HeathrowAirport could learn so much from here about customer service

Had a meeting in the Potswolds - as @harrym_vids has now christened it. Terrible weather but decided to finish running in the 750S. In the typical McLaren way it coped so well with all types of roads and conditions and fortunately I managed to avoid any pothole damage.

This is a man who knows his cars, and his Fords. And his podcasts…..
Listening to the ever- brilliant @theintercoolerx podcast on today’s long drive, discussing Ford’s current model line-up and business direction. It made me exceptionally glad I bought this when I did in 2019, as the only brand-new car I’ve ever signed on the dotted line for. I think it was perhaps Ford’s last truly silly, analogue affordable car. A thumping V8, a manual box, and Recaro seats. All for £10k less than a Golf GTi costs today. Needless to say, it’s not going anywhere. Check the podcast out, @Andrew_Frankel and @TheDanProsser on their usual sparkling form. 🔈 📸 @chris_wallbank 🧡🛞 #ford #mustang #

My AMG C63S is a really enjoyable, capable daily driver. Not so keen on the matte paint, but all Final Editions are in this finish. Even less keen on the fuel consumption. Still, it’s a joy to drive as almost all C63’s are and glad to have it in the garage.

A little Christmas present from @theintercoolerx
A small gift, if you’ll allow us. We’ve unlocked three of 2025’s most-loved stories and made them free for everyone to read over the Christmas and New Year period. No catch. (The free ones? Listed in the comments ↓) You’ll also find our Free Reads section, where our writers, and a few friends, apply Man Maths and Woman Maths exclusively to cars, with logic that is sometimes sound, sometimes questionable, and almost always entertaining. Have a browse. Take your time. And if, by the end, you think this is rather good actually, you could do far worse than buy it for that automotive-obsessed friend of yours. Instant delivery, no auto-renewal, no commitment beyond curiosity. Over to you. Just download the app or visit the website, then search by title. Swipe to see which are available.

Since we're talking about The Intercooler, it would be remiss of me not to mention that you can currently get a chunky 25 percent off a first year's new subscription by following this link. 25 percent! Yes. theintercooler.memberful.com…

Customer service is always terrible @ThreeUK Now they’re using AI to cut costs it’s even worse. And the combination with @VodafoneUK with no doubt another cost cutting plan will be a disaster. Which other UK mobile provider is the least worst as I just have to change now?
