A lot here but I promise it’s worth reading it all. The team have pulled together an offer that both supports playwrights individually & looks to foster engagement between us. Like a first draft, some of it will soar, some might not - either way, it’s just the start. Come join x
Introducing the Writers’ Card… Completely FREE to join, the Writers’ Card is a radical invitation for playwrights – a renewed promise of support and community, founded on the artistic values that have always driven the Royal Court's mission. royalcourttheatre.com/playwr…

So sad. This was such a vital platform for artists to take creative risks rather than huge financial ones and to just bravely put their stuff out there. Feels like losing a big puzzle piece of the industry.

It is with immense sadness that we announce the closure of VAULT Festival and the cancellation of plans for our new London home, after failing to secure the funding required to continue. 🧵 1/8

The thing that makes this so great is that it isn't that they didn't put in any effort, but that they put in the exact funniest amount of effort possible.

This is fine because there’s nothing going on in the world right now anyway.
APNews: Arts Council England (@ace_national) has updated its policies, warning that "political statements" made by individuals linked to an organisation can cause "reputational risk", breaching funding agreements (1/5)

So I have to celebrate pancakes AND my relationship this week? Usually I just prioritise one or the other.

The pleasant surprise of #OneDay were the perfectly pitched secondary relationships. Mum & dad broke me. Ian & Sylvie (the compassionate exes) also shone through. Ep 5 (Anna Jordan) was totally sublime. This show is more than the story of two friends turned lovers. This is life.

The weirdest thing about Gregg Wallace’s daily routine for me is eating breakfast at 10.30 then lunch at 12. You’ll be too full Gregg.

Watching Luke Combs sing beside Tracy Chapman with such obvious reverence makes the difference between appropriation and appreciation crystal clear. When someone engages source material in a spirit of love, it shows. Count all the ways he centers her, not himself 👇🏾
Full performance of Fast Car by Tracy Chapman with Luke Combs at the Grammys. Her smile at the beginning is the best.

Delighted to see my algorithm so full of Tracy Chapman and Joni Mitchell. Would have given literally any of my organs to have been at that Grammys.

Okay but Past Lives and May December needed MUCH more attention.

I LOVE that they are giving Andrew’s confessionals on #TheTraitorsUK the same jovial music they give crabs on David Attenborough.
