Some interesting insights from some of our NUQualSIG committee members on ‘quick & dirty qual’ research - when is it appropriate and how do we reconcile with our own standards as trained qualitative researchers? #NUQualSIG2025 @BKBareham @SRussellPhD @RachelStocker @MattBreckons

🕰️ Dementia prevention has typically focused on mid-to-later life ⭐️ This new paper - led by @FrancescaRoFa & @DementiaHealth - makes the case for starting dementia prevention research and efforts earlier in the life course ⬇️

1/ Over a century ago, scientists uncovered a curious link between the gut & the pancreas. This sparked decades of research, culminating in one of the greatest medical breakthroughs. This is the story of GLP-1 that I would like to share. 🧵

Could you help a team of researchers who are developing a new questionnaire to support parents of children being screened for Type 1 Diabetes? We are looking for parents of a child with T1D and parents who have considered screening.   We know the decision to have a child screened for a disease can be tough to make, so we are developing a new questionnaire to identify common issues that may arise in order that we can put appropriate support in place for parents who may need it.   We would like to hear your views on screening to make sure we are asking the right questions.    How can you help? Take part in a 1:1interview or focus group. If you would like to help us please DM or email katharinebarnard@bhrltd.com @kamleshkhunti @GoDiabetesMD @DRWFDiabetes @drpratikc @emmajdoble @ReeveBexon @DrRoseStewart @TBattelino @MEvansCambridge @BT1DUK @sotonDSN
