NZ based Software Design & Development Agency. We build custom Employee & User Experience (EX/UX) focussed mobile & web applications for your workforce.
"A handy tip: Not everything needs to be a single click or tap away! Trying to fit everything on one screen ultimately slows people down because it's not clear where to look." Read @blakequartly's full post here: linkedin.com/posts/blakequar…
It's election season & Covid-19 season so business uncertainty is normal. But stopping dead in your tracks only puts you on the back foot. Instead, we recommend a gradual approach to innovation with a low-risk well-defined MVP #nzpol#BusinessUncertainty#mvp
Customer proof of delivery doesn't have to take up valuable administrator time. With a custom built tool, a multi-step proof of delivery process can be reduced to zero. Your customers can receive an email with signature and photos just seconds after the job is completed.
"Proper customisation does not come by further complicating an already complex system. If something is so complex that it requires the addition of "preferences" or customisation choices, it is probably too complex to use, too complex to be saved." (Don Norman, Emotional Design)
A big congratulations to @triageplus, winners of the TSB Good Stuff award! We're incredibly proud to be part of the Triage-Plus team & we're looking forward to further development after feasibility trials in the next couple of months. Watch this space. #TriagePlus#HealthTech
Our goal when designing a business application is to keep your employees focused on what they do best. That means eliminating repetitive tasks & simplifying workflows. For best results, this requires a thorough analysis & design phase. #EmployeeExperience#DigitalTransformation
We’re excited to kick-start the HealthTech Challenge pre-accelerator programme this week alongside ThincLab Canterbury and our fantastic 22 finalists! We had a fruitful discussion with the participants about the startup lifecycle and startup fundamentals.
We had a fun time attending the @CIO_NZ Tech Expo this year. In true 2020 fashion, the summit had to make a last minute shift to being a virtual event.
It was a great adaptation and an interesting look into the potential of online conferences. #WFH#OnlineExpo
We're still big fans of in-person events for their level of engagement and ease of networking. Make sure you grab a ticket to @CanterburyTech Summit for Sept 24th. Plan B without enough ticket sales is the event going online... Let's stick to Plan A! techsummit.nz
Equipping a mobile workforce with devices does not need to cost as much as the software that runs on them. It's 2020 & a $200 android phone goes a long way! All of our apps are perfectly capable of running on modest spec devices. So long as it's running Android 8.0 #SupplyChain
No software is perfectly planned. It's one reason custom apps are more effective than off-the-shelf. An evolutionary approach means building what you need when you need it. No unnecessary features like a 2nd kitchen; or unsuitable features like a bedroom when you need a wardrobe.
At Radian we like to think of our team as an extension of yours. We believe this is critical to efficient and effective software development. Creating custom software is about a personalised process as much as it is about a personalised result.

Sometimes there limits to multiple rounds of user feedback. If you're strapped for resources, involve users BEFORE any design:
1) This allows users to shape the feature set & use cases.
2) Then use those learnings to become user advocate for the duration of the project.

#ThrowbackThursday to a moment that made our year in 2012. Former Microsoft CEO, Steve Ballmer, presenting with our app Tweetro behind him. It feels like only yesterday that Microsoft was promoting Windows 8 and Radian (then Lazyworm) was building consumer apps 💙
For businesses with outdated digital systems we recommend a phased approach to a new app. Your new solution needs time to be considered. In the meantime, your workforce could be more productive with some simple usability tweaks to your existing platform. #DigitalTransformation
Each year Radian takes on a few students for their final year project or work experience. We do this because we believe in the value of fresh perspectives & supporting the growth of talent in tech. The user experience profession is growing, how do you know a UX career is for you?

Windows Phone fans rejoice! iPhone's new "Widgets" bear a striking resemblance to Windows Phone's "Live Tiles". We're really excited to see this paradigm live on. It strikes a great balance of simplicity utility and consistency customisation. #WindowsPhone#iOS14#UXdesign
