While trying to recapture his runaway chickens in the 1960s, a Turkish homeowner stumbled through the wall, revealing an abandoned underground Turkish city, now known as Derinkuyu, Derinkuyu is the largest excavated underground city globally, burrowed more than 280 feet beneath the Central Anatolian region of Cappadocia. It is believed to connect to over 200 smaller underground cities discovered in recent decades. Inside, researchers found 18 levels of tunnels containing various facilities like dwellings, food storage, stables, schools, wineries, and a chapel. The city also had a ventilation system to provide fresh air and water. Its exact construction date is uncertain, but ancient writings dating back to 370 BC mention its existence. The city served as a storage place originally but later transformed into a secure bunker to escape from invaders, designed with narrow, low hallways and blocked doors with movable boulders from the inside. While the architects remain a mystery, it is thought that the Hittites and later the Phrygians contributed to its construction. Derinkuyu reached its peak population of 20,000 during the 7th-century Islamic raids on the Christian Byzantine Empire. After two millennia of use, the city was abandoned in 1923 by the Cappadocian Greeks, who fled to Greece after the Greco-Turkish war. Today, Derinkuyu is a UNESCO World Heritage site and welcomes curious visitors keen on experiencing life underground.

There’s two strange narratives about AEW that are weird. 1) They only hire ex-wwe people. OK, other than the many stars they’ve built from the indies they do have A TON of ex-wwe people. However, most of them became well established in ROH. Which is why wwe scooped them up.

I mean just look at the timeline—just look at the stars. There are VERY few in AEW who became known in the wrestling world exclusively because of WWE. Most were ROH first. Even then, most that weren’t ROH were from Japanese or Mexican or English promotions before WWE.

This isn’t a bash WWE or bash WWE fans thread or a bash Punk and/or bash Punk fans thread. Just an observation of prevalent opinions that don’t consider facts.

Another young barista pronounced my name as Ray-mOND. Its so funny. It really isn’t a common name anymore. Especially, since the show is off air and hasn’t really been streaming anywhere long enough for it take hold.

Im not surprised they forgot the Latine person. Media—and more specifically comics have a way of doing just that. If you’re not on the level of George Perez (which, not many are-or ever will be) you’re not worth any company’s time.
I've been told that Carlos Pacheco was not mentioned during the Eisner Awards ceremony at the @Comic_Con He was not mentioned during the In Memoriam segment, was not nominated or inducted to the Hall Of Fame.

Jim Thorpe, a celebrated Native American athlete hailing from Oklahoma, achieved fame as an Olympic Gold medalist and is often regarded as one of the greatest athletes in history. In 1912, he represented the United States in the Olympics held in Sweden, where he was joined by future General George Patton as a teammate. Before conquering the three-day decathlon, encompassing ten track and field events, Thorpe had already secured a gold medal in the pentathlon with remarkable ease. However, during the second day of the decathlon, just before the 1500 meters race, Thorpe encountered a setback – his shoes had disappeared, likely stolen. In a desperate search for a solution, he turned to his teammates and managed to find an extra shoe, though it was too small. Nevertheless, he squeezed his foot into it. He then stumbled upon the other shoe in a trash bin, which, conversely, was too big for him. To make it fit, he ingeniously padded it with a couple of pairs of socks. Undeterred by this footwear predicament, Thorpe faced off against the world's finest decathletes and remarkably won the 1500 meters race. During the decathlon, he demonstrated his exceptional talent by securing first place in four events and finishing no lower than fourth in the remaining six events, all while wearing mismatched shoes. Consequently, he clinched yet another gold medal. Upon receiving the prestigious accolades, King Gustav V of Sweden bestowed two Olympic gold medals upon Thorpe and declared him the world's greatest athlete. Graciously, Thorpe replied with a simple "Thanks." After the Olympics, this versatile athlete pursued an illustrious career, excelling in various sports. He ventured into the National Football League as a two-time All-American college football player, briefly played professional basketball, and enjoyed a fruitful seven-season stint in Major League Baseball. Thorpe's legacy as an extraordinary athlete and his inspiring feat with the mismatched shoes have left an indelible mark on the world of sports.

Some of the high level questions on the early episodes of Who Wants to be a Millionaire would most definitely be like $100 questions today. Case is point: THIS IS A 500,000 DOLLAR QUESTION.

One from earlier: For 64K: What is the official language of Brazil? Every single person I’ve ever met, from the people who know almost nothing about pop culture to world events or even sports or music, would know this. 100%.

Today’s ridiculous $64,000 question. Geez!!! Not making fun of this guy—just pointing out how a culture changes over time. Picture this question appearing on the show today. It would 100% be one of the SUPER easy throwaway questions! MAX $500.
