2 week national park road trip-spontaneously It was after my partner died by suicide and I was in a brutal PhD program. I camped out of my van and it was life saving. I came back with a clear focus and more determination than ever. I was Dr. Anderson within 1 year.
During a very dark period, what was the best thing you ever did for your mental health?

This. Every time I redo something at my house I make it even more accessible.
A contractor said something during this project which I thought was both compassionate and the sign that he was a skilled professional, and I thought I’d share: Scene: My mother, who has some mobility challenges, is sketching out what she wants in her kitchen. He listens.

On campus at 6:30 means one thing…I woke up with a research idea and couldn’t go back to sleep. But also, no one is here so it’s time to blast 90s rap and conduct some analyses…

I was in and out of voting in less than 10 minutes and I still made my 9 am call. Thank you, Hampton, Georgia for keeping this easy and simple. #voting #GeorgiaVoter

Do I bribe myself with the coolest analysis of the day for the end of the day? Yes. Yes, I do. It's like a reward. .....and that is the reason you got that email at 7 am, colleague.
