I just quit my 9-5 to become and started doing motion designing. No backup plan. No safety net. Just a laptop, WiFi, and a skill I wasn’t even fully confident in yet. Everyone talks about “follow your passion” — but nobody tells you how uncomfortable it actually feels when you finally do it. The first week? Doubt. The second week? Silence. The third week? Questioning every decision I’ve ever made. But here’s what changed everything: I stopped waiting to be “ready” I stopped overthinking every move I started shipping work daily — even if it sucked Because motion design isn’t about talent. It’s about reps. One project turned into two. Two turned into a client. That client turned into referrals. And suddenly… That “risky decision” didn’t feel so risky anymore. Most people stay stuck because they want certainty before they start. Truth is: Certainty comes AFTER you start. If you're thinking about making the jump — don’t wait for the perfect moment. It doesn’t exist. Build the skill. Show the work. Stay consistent. Everything else figures itself out.
