As we mark Democracy Day, I join millions of Nigerians in celebrating our democratic journey and honoring the sacrifices of patriots who stood firmly for justice, freedom, and the sanctity of the people's mandate.
June 12 remains a powerful symbol of the resilience of the Nigerian people and our collective determination to build a nation founded on democratic values, good governance, and the rule of law. It reminds us that the true essence of democracy lies not only in periodic elections but in leadership that is accountable, transparent, and committed to the welfare of the people.
While we celebrate our democratic progress, we must also reflect on the challenges confronting our nation and our state, particularly insecurity, unemployment, poverty, and inadequate infrastructure. These challenges call for purposeful leadership, innovative solutions, and a renewed commitment to public service.
I remain steadfast in my belief that Osun State can achieve greater heights through responsible governance, economic empowerment, improved security, quality education, and sustainable development. Together, we can build a state where every citizen has the opportunity to prosper and where government truly serves the people.
On this Democracy Day, I urge all citizens to continue to uphold peace, unity, and democratic principles. Let us remain hopeful and actively participate in the process of building a better Osun State and a stronger Nigeria.
Happy Democracy Day.
