I never found the manual. So I compiled one. Book of the Wire - a scripture written in static. For those who build, debug, and believe. šŸ“˜ Now on Amazon: amazon.com/dp/B0FBX1JBGH/

They just keep coming back. Bots trying to install a Monero cryptominer on my Next.js app. Every attempt rejected.

Spent way more time than I would have liked to trying to see the cause of something on one of my projects. Turns out it was a misspelled variable...

Define that person you want to be. Ask what that person does daily. Do those things now. Become them through repetition.

got a fun wake up call today šŸ™ƒ a ā€œsimpleā€ landing page i deployed got probed, exploited, and ended up leaking env vars (including db creds) even had a random 'bob.php' file show up in my container here’s what happened ā¬‡ļø

lessons learned: • even a simple landing page needs real security • bots will find anything public • env vars aren’t ā€œsafeā€ at runtime • redeploy clean > patching a dirty container • lock down server side endpoints • never leak raw errors in prod • audit your browser extensions

code was fine surface area wasn’t we’re in an era of AI agents bot swarms if it’s public, it *will* get hit

About to wipe my old gaming desktop to install Omarchy.

Top tech, programming, hacking, AI, podcasts everyone should know?

How long until we get models like deepseek v4 running on 16 gigs? Possible?

Dual CPUs. Quad GPUs. Loud, excessive, unapologetic. Now everything’s quieter… and more powerful. I want the chaos back.

Great talk. Good mood. No issues with questions. Overall was a pleasant technical interview. Next day: After careful consideration... Seriously, what is it that jobs want out of applicants now a days? Jump through hoops on fire while juggling bowling pins and solving puzzles?

Everyone's racing toward AGI. I'm going back to 1983. Rewatching Halt and Catch Fire. No LLMs, no hype cycles. Just engineers, ambition, and the birth of an industry. Still hits.

I got tired of endless scrolling: LinkedIn, Indeed, maybe the company's website shows up if you're lucky. Endless fake posts and easy applies that go nowhere. I just want a simple way to see what jobs are posted from real companies at their actual websites. So I started building something. It pulls from different sources (more to come as I build and tinker). It tells you where to apply directly, what ATS they're using (maybe later I'll add Workday ~ eww), and who you can actually reach out to at the company. Still early, but it keeps me sane while looking for jobs. Here's a quick demo of my sanity, a bit generic since I wanted to test how it works and what needed to be hooked up. So far it only runs on my machine, but who knows… I feel productive, might deploy to prod later. šŸ•ŗ

With the rise of local LLMs I do wonder if we will get better computers that can run them without having to buy a 10k gpu.

You can't tell me writing code by hand isn't appealing or fun anymore. It's like comparing going up a mountain on an elevator (AI doing all the work) and you free soloing El Capitan (by hand). There's a tremendous adrenaline rush when there's effort put into it.
