Guided by H.E. @masrourbarzani ’s vision to advance environmental protection and encourage public awareness on preserving natural resources, I was pleased to host Minister Begard Talabani and her team to discuss ways to strengthen the protection of #Kurdistan’s environment, establishing a unified strategy to prevent encroachments on forests, water resources, and agricultural lands.

Our discussions focused on the ongoing humanitarian situation, strengthening bilateral coordination , and advancing sustainable solutions for displaced communities. I also reiterated the KRG’s commitment to supporting UNHCR’s mission and to working closely with international partners to ensure continued protection and stability for those in need.

As part of the Ministry of Interior’s vision to strengthen women’s leadership, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Brigadier Chra Ahmed Latif as Acting Head of the Internal Security Forces Court/2 — the first woman to hold this senior position. Congratulations to her on this well-deserved recognition, and wishing her continued success.

Minister of Interior @RayberAhmed made his first official visit to Detroit, where he met with Mr. Martin Manna, President of the Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce, along with a distinguished group of community and business leaders. During his visit, the Minister also toured the new headquarters of the Chaldean Community Foundation, commending its vital role in serving and strengthening the community. Minister Ahmed reaffirmed the KRG’s steadfast support for the many different components that call the Kurdistan Region home, as well as those in the diaspora, underscoring its enduring commitment to coexistence, inclusion, and shared prosperity.

Rebar Ahmad, Minister of Interior of the Kurdistan Region, visited the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) headquarters in Washington, D.C., and met with Assistant Director Jason A. Kaplan. Minister @RayberAhmed met with Mr. Daniel Zimmerman, Assistant Secretary of War for International Security at the @DeptofWar. They emphasized the Peshmerga’s critical role in regional security and reaffirmed the importance of continued cooperation in promoting peace and stability.

Minister @RayberAhmed was pleased to meet with Senator Chris Van Hollen, member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, to discuss continued support for the Kurdish people and advancing stability and partnership in the region.
