It's weird how there's a "start up story" trope of:
"Me and my friend were laid off from <Professional Job>, so we decided to <Make Same Thing Ourselves>. Come look!"
But then half the time with these stories, you look at the thing, and think to yourself "oh, that's why you were 'laid off' huh?"
I'm all for supporting everyone, but sometimes it's a bit silly when you can see the obvious failings that spotlight the whole reason the big pros didn't want them anymore.
Having said that, I've also seen 10,000 insanely amazing things come from the same, probably more genuine, situation.
