Thank you to @UrmstonBookShop for their help in selecting lots of brilliant non-fiction texts for our library @WellacreAcademy (and thank you to Sam and Harry in Y8 for creating this display of some of the books!)
Year 7 & 8 students were delighted to take part in a story-writing workshop with popular children's author, Tom Palmer. It was a great opportunity to inspire our young writers and readers! Read all about it: bit.ly/3VSrpWi@tompalmerauthor@ReadsWellacre
Year 7's @WellacreAcademy have been making postcards for @HumzaProduction@MrHenryWhite and @Bitskoff. They practised drawing like Aleksei and wrote about why they loved the book. We will post them to the relevant publishers/agents. Well done!
Year 7 @WellacreAcademy - ready to find out what happens next for Humza, Umer and (Mrs Stirling's favourite) the dad who had to run "seventy miles to school every morning and seventy miles back"? Sequels back in stock soon...
The response from a Year 9 classroom this afternoon when Citra finally arrived at Playa Pintada in our class read 'Scythe' could be heard down the corridor. Thank you @NealShusterman!
Year 7 were thrilled to receive their free book as part of the #Bookbuzz@Booktrust scheme.
Jake said: “I chose my book because it looked interesting - the cover picture pulls you in and the title was catchy.”

Some Year 7's are big fans of @HumzaProduction's Little Badman books. If you've finished the first one, make sure to grab a copy of the second book in the series from our library @WellacreAcademy.
If you're in Year 9 and enjoyed studying dystopias in your English lessons, why not get stuck into the Divergent series on novels? Now available in @WellacreAcademy's library.
