I fully expect DMs, EMs, etc to blow up in the next 48 hrs If I don't respond, don't worry. I know who has supported my work and I won't lose sight of that If you'd like to join me in developing a set of unified scientific standards for this field, my book is available in bio

I like how far right scientific illiterates ask "what is a woman?" As their favorite debate question. The fact that they don't think a person who has birthed multiple children is a woman illustrates their confusion over sex is projection.

"Top 1% pay 40% of taxes!" You've heard it regurgitated, but I bet you've never analyzed it. Turns out, it's a lie. Top 1% of income earners pay 40% of income taxes. Bet you don't even know the difference. Because you're easily misled.

Hey @MLBPA Hearing talk of a cap/floor as part of negotiations Fair warning: Without a VERY dramatic restructuring of "rookie" contract structure where a team "owns" the player for 3 years at league min salary, it will be abused and be terrible for players - esp. pitchers

Why "40% of the (statewide) vote should yield 40% of the state's Representatives" has nothing to do with "fairness" nor anything to do with #gerrymandering. In two sentences, I explain a concept that the @washingtonpost article and graphics actively misinformed readers about.

This is one of many reasons why people who work in this field should be ashamed. They teach that you can compare the poll spread to the election spread and that the difference is poll error. And that's not right. "Outside the margin of error" @AAPOR

Guess in comments Assume this map is divided into 5 contiguous districts of 5 units each without any consideration (or knowledge) of partisanship Contiguous meaning they touch at a side - not diagonal Of all possible maps, in what % does blue win exactly 3? #gerrymandering

Reminder that so-called conservatives have been on the wrong side of every social and civil rights movement in history. You can't prove me wrong

People like @AndrewCFollett proudly admit they have no idea what gerrymandering is without realizing it, also proving they're bad at math Watch this In a state w 5 Reps and a totally non-gerrymandered map: How many Reps would a party with 60% statewide be expected to receive?

Hey here's a fun fact. Massachusetts voted 36% Republican, and has nine representatives. And there is literally no way to draw maps in Massachusetts that would guarantee Republicans even ONE district. I dare anyone to try and prove me wrong. Then tell me what happens.
