In 1991 I was serving on board HMCS Athabaskan (DDG282) during Operation Friction. It was the 'Athabee' that pulled the crippled USS Princeton out of a minefield. I was about 21 at the time. Now I'm 55. If I have to go to war again, to project my home, I absolutely will.
1/ Donald Trump may be aiming to annex the Great Lakes – and possibly south-eastern Ontario in a maximalist scenario – and kick Canada out of NORAD, judging by first-hand accounts of talks between Canada and the Trump Administration. ⬇️

Years ago, when I worked at Electronic Arts, the version of MSOffice we used would spell check ‘FIFA’ as ‘fiasco’. I always lol’d.

It's never about protecting kids. Ever.
Today, our government introduced new legislation to protect our kids online. Canada's Safe Social Media Act will hold social media and AI platforms accountable, make them safer, and restrict access to social media for children under 16. More and more kids are suffering from anxiety, depression, self-harm, and exploitation. To keep our kids safe, we have to ensure that our laws keep up with technology.
Community note
Similar laws elsewhere (e.g., Australia’s attempts) have shown the same issue: age-gating often leads to ID/biometric collection for everyone. childrenofthestreet.com and ultimately a major privacy issu

This needs to be illegal. You can not call it a 'purchase' if that purchase can be removed at any time, for any reason, with no recourse. At best, this is a long term rental. @PrimeVideo

"would be a result unique to Mr. Singh in that no Canadian citizen would face a similar consequence if he or she pleaded guilty to the same crime." But he's ~not~ a Canadian citizen... 🙄🙄🤬 msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/ju…

None of these shows have been cancelled. They've ended because their stories did. They end with final seasons that wrap up story lines. Cancelled shows just stop. - The Acolyte was cancelled. - The Boys is ending. There is a big difference. msn.com/en-ca/entertainment/…

We live in a world in which people need to be warned that food will be hot after you have heated it. I remember a time when people already knew this. It was something obvious. Now it’s too much to ask that people know this. 🙄

I've been informed that the source of the original image of Duke in the Canadian military was an edit of Captain Jefferson Clifford Francis, killed in action on July 4th, 2007 in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Rest In Peace.
Duke Nukem fans, I bring grave news about his origin. In Duke Nukem Forever, you can see a photo of Duke when he was in the military. In it, he's not holding an M4. He is holding a C8A1. That's right, Duke isn't American. Its terrifying. He is Canadian.

Both USN hospital ships, the Mercy and Comfort, are in refit and not going anywhere any time soon. Also, nobody in Denmark or Greenland has any idea who the 'sick people that are not being taken care of' are. Nobody involved knows what any of this is.

Supernatural had 327 episodes over 15 years and it had a dozen main characters. Not being able to punch out 20 eps in a year with just 4 main characters just seems lazy.
Vince Gilligan says ‘PLURIBUS’ Season 2 writers are “plugging away” but it won’t return any time soon “We appreciate everybody’s patience. But it ain’t gonna be ‘The Pitt’, coming back every year” (via: THR)

Yes @netflix, I'd love to watch more Lockwood & Co. Except for one problem. It was the number 1 show on your platform for 3 weeks, in multiple countries, and yet you still cancelled it.

"The most technologically advanced airplane every made"?? The 700 and 800 series do not have fuel deicing systems in them. Also, good luck to all the American's trying to travel now, given that every airline in the country flies Canadian aircraft.

The number of people on this app that are clueless about what an aviation Type Certification is and does, and who issues them, is absolutely mind boggling.

From a video game, but still, a well done little clip.
One of Mars's two moons. It is only 6,000 km above the surface of Mars and has an average diameter of 22 km.

The Stranger Things final was satisfying.

Stranger Things (2016) : 2-3 years between seasons, get fewer than 10 episodes. Fringe (2008) : 1 year between seasons, get roughly 23 episodes.

The Pentagon 'leaked' a report stating that the Pentagon evaluated the F-35 and found it was better than any aircraft not sponsored by the Pentagon. Seems like a legit report. 🙄

Brian is an expert in tactical aircraft now. 🙄 The reality is that - 'lost' F-35 jobs transfer over into the JAS-39. - Canada's aerospace manufacturing ability takes a giant leap forward. - We regain control of our own supply chain. - We can build more for less. Simple.
Mark Carney's Swedish dreams could become a Canadian nightmare with job losses across many sectors from aviation to steel and auto. Carney would be foolish to dump the F-35 for Saab. Here's why. torontosun.com/opinion/colum…
