If anyone has a locked down business/school laptop like this HP ProBook i have and you want to install another OS such as linux… my method of doing it was to get admin access within windows and then mount the EFI partition and replace the bootloader with grub. Works nicely!

If doing so make sure to use an OS that supports secure boot, such as ubuntu. In my case the UEFI was completely locked down and refused to boot into anything that wasn’t the onboard storage. Only way to get around the password is to replace UEFI chip or contact HP (good luck) 😂
