The Green Bay buoy is in the water!
In central Green Bay, 20 miles west of Sturgeon Bay, GB17 will record real-time weather, wave, and water quality data, webcam photos. Once an onboard power issue is sorted out, live data and images will be available: seagull.glos.org/data-consol…

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) deploys two buoys on Lake St. Clair. The Lake St. Clair Deep Water Buoy, or LSCDB, and the SHALLOW Water Buoy, LSCSB.

@mtu_glrc has three full size buoys on Lake Superior in 2026, providing a wide array of parameters, including some novel water chemistry and quality measurements, and giving a better understanding of what happens out on the biggest of the big lakes.

The FY27 President’s Budget for NOAA proposes eliminating IOOS Regional Observations. If IOOS gets shut down, GLOS gets shutdown, and we cannot distribute critical Great Lakes data.
