I have my doubts – and I know I'm far from being alone. That's why I'm now asking questions. It concerns the alleged letter from the young Princess Elizabeth that was in the news recently. It sold for £25,000.
I'm not convinced it was written by Lilibet. And I haven't found any expert (apart from the ones of the auction house itself) who would say so.

"To our trusty and welbeloved Ser Andrew Wyndesore, knight, keper of our great wardrope"- 1514 manuscript warrant addressed to Sir Andrew Windsor & signed "Henry R" by King Henry VIII. Windsor played a significant part in King Henry VIII's military expedition to France in 1513.

"I am so desperately sorry about all your worries"- 1965 letter of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother to Marion Lascelles, Countess of Harewood. Mailed from Fairlawne Estate, Kent which was owned by Peter Cazalet, trainer of her racehorses. She was a childhood friend of his sister

"PORTSMOUTH SORTING CARRIAGE"- 1879 cover addressed in the hand of Albert Edward, #PrinceofWales, later #KingEdwardVII, and initialled "AE" in the lower left corner. Mail from the royal residence Osborne on the Isle of Wight was postmarked like this on the train to London.

This is a postbox which is quite unique. A mail buoy of @bundeswehrInfo Feldpost in the naval base of #Eckernförde. It‘s only in use today for the German Day of the Armed Forces („Tag der Bundeswehr“). You can take a boat and mail your postcards there. #postboxsaturday

"I do not have any money (some time ago I put $65 aside for you for such an eventuality, but had to put it into the business at a difficult time)." 1950 letter of Prince Nikita Nikitich Romanov to his brother Alexander. He was a great nephew of tsar Nicholas II of Russia.

"I was horrified to get your letter with its dreadful news - what can I say?"- 1967 letter of Princess Margaret to her friend Vera Russell née Poliakoff who was married to famous artic critic John Russell CBE. No clue what kind of tragedy the princess is refering to.

And here's Fergus Bowes Lyon, the Queen Mother's brother, on the memorial in the church at St Pauls Walden on the BL's estate. A Captain in his family's regiment, the Black Watch, Fergus was killed in 1915, leaving his widow with a 2mth old daughter. #Royals#RoyalFamily#WWI
