This is also the first time I've ever written any x86 assembly (there are 2 different versions of the MSU-1 register R/W handler functions in assembly and C). It's not much, but I'm really proud of what I've done (and also somewhat disturbed).

I found a disassembly of X (the Game Boy game that later led to Star Fox) on GitHub and (un)surprisingly, the shape format is very close to the one used in Star Fox! So I went and converted them into a format usable with the tools I put together for Star Fox.
