On 05/26/2027 at approximately 10:15pm EST we got notified that we had a possible ISP outage. Our main internet line went out and our back up Starlink took over. By 10:45pm we realized that it was actually phase C (one of the three phases coming from our substation) had experienced a disconnect, which caused instability at the farm. At that moment, the order to shut down the farm was given to protect all of our clients equipment and then the clock started, we have only 6 hours to restore stable power, or we fall below our 99% average. Power company was then notified of the outage and responded. They identified the problem, and immediately fixed it within 1 hour post arrival. By 3am 99% of the farm was back up and running. Our teams response cannot be overstated as technicians, management, and ownership were up till 430am making sure the farm remained stable. Even though this was out of our control, the response was swift and punctual. Yes, some clients lost power supplies, which Terra will cover 100%. Our emergency shut down procedures managed to only leave a margin of failure to less than 1%. We wanted to share this story because even though it may seem like these operations are easy to manage, having the right team makes all the difference.
