Robert Kocharyan’s son admitted that his father had intended to fly to Russia. What’s striking is that this happened straight after the CEC declared the final results of the election.
The Kremlin rats, having lost all hope, are trying to escape punishment. Robert Kocharyan tried to flee the country. Law enforcement authorities prevented him from doing so.

A Russian bot farm tried to influence Armenia’s elections According to researchers, the campaign closely resembled the tactics used ahead of Moldova’s elections. In May, the number of anti-government and anti-EU posts in Armenian social media increased nearly tenfold. Many of these comments were posted by the same accounts, which simply copied identical messages and spread them across different platforms. The goal was simple: to create the impression that “everyone thinks this way,” even though the narrative was being artificially amplified by bots.

Don't put all the blame on Pashinyan. In 2018 the vast majority of the Armenian people genuinely believed that the Artsakh army could hold its own against Azerbaijan. Back then, Armenians weren't even willing to hand back the Azerbaijani districts that weren't part of Artsakh.
In fact, it wasn't soul-searching that helped Pashinyan change his stance on Karabakh. It was a defeat in the war that started after he pulled out of talks, ignored peace advocates and taunted Aliyev. A better peace deal than current one was possible in 2018-19. He didn't take it

If Russia had prevented Turkey from getting involved in the Second Karabakh War, the Armenian army would have joined forces with Artsakh and together they could have held back the Azerbaijani army. But Russia colluded with Azerbaijan instead.

Armenia’s regular army didn’t even enter the war in support of Artsakh. They knew they couldn’t take on both Turkey and Azerbaijan at the same time.

By the way, Pashinyan would never have come to power in 2018 if he’d said during the Velvet Revolution that he wanted a deal with Azerbaijan. The people simply wouldn’t have accepted it - back then they still genuinely believed Russia would come to their aid.

I spoke with @NikolPashinyan about Russia’s recent restrictions targeting Armenia. This is nothing short of economic coercion, and it is unacceptable. Europe stands firmly with Armenia. We are preparing a support package. Read-out ↓ link.europa.eu/7k7tXH

It's not Armenia drifting away from liberal democracy — it's you who's increasingly desperate to please the Kremlin. As for Armenian democracy, it needs to be protected and safeguarded from hostile third countries that threaten Armenian statehood.
Replying to @atanessi
But EU leaders ignore arrests and prosecutions, praising Armenia’s democracy, because Pashinyan presents these cases as a fight against Russian influence. Read my analysis (in Russian) bbc.com/russian/articles/cn4… or listen to this BBC podcast (English) bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/w3ct9b…

So you're concluding that Armenia is moving away from liberal democracy based on the opinion of a single 'expert'? In Russia you can find thousands of such experts claiming Armenia has no democracy at all. Should we agree with that?
Replying to @atanessi
But ironically, while breaking away from Russia, Armenia is moving away from liberal democracy, says the leading non-partisan expert @Tigartsakh. Opposition figures, bloggers and church leaders have faced criminal charges, often after Pashinyan’s attacks. One case stands out —>

After over 100,000 Armenians were forcibly displaced from Artsakh in 2023, the West provided more than $350-400 million in humanitarian and recovery aid. Russia (the so-called strategic ally) contributed only symbolic shipments and rhetoric. The numbers speak for themselves.
