No offense or hate to the Folio society, their versions look amazing but I've bought this series several times over already
I have the original books, World of Ice & Fire, Fire & Blood, the first 3 illustrated editions (you know why I don't have the 4th one), Fire & Blood illustrated edition, Fire Cannot Kill a Dragon the Making of the Game of Thrones television show, Dunk & Egg and then again I have most of these on PDFs
I'm getting sick of buying the same things over and over again just to collect dust on my shelf. The next time I buy anything ASOIAF related will be the Winds of Winter if it ever does come out
And to anybody who is still buying this stuff: No hate towards you, do what makes you happy but I personally do not want to buy the same stories I own repackaged

A lot of the original scenes in Game of Thrones was stuff George didn't write and it was great, same with House of the Dragon Seasons 1 and 2
I get that season 2 had its issues but why even watch the show if you're coming in with that attitude? There's a difference between going into something with an open mind, watching it and not liking it because it didn't resonate with you VS going in wanting to not like it. This ain't the 60s where everyone had 4 channels and 2 of them were static. You can watch something else if it bothers you that much.
I love George and I hope he likes it too but I don't cling to his enjoyment of something and let that color mine. Way too many people keep using the whole "This isn't George's writing, he said so himself" and to that I see re-read the first part of this tweet.

No Spoilers for #HouseoftheDragon Season 3's premiere but I've now spoken to 4 other YouTubers who also got the screeners and pretty much the general consensus among us is that Episode 1 of Season 3 really felt like Episode 9 of Season 2
Game of Thrones always had a specific formula they stuck to every season, specifically with the Episode 9 (something I call the 'Dreaded Episode') and this was essentially that: Crazy moments that change the story drastically after several episodes of setup.
House of the Dragon kinda did that for Season 1 but due to budget constraints and, possibly, the 2023 writers' strike had to cut down on episode for Season 2.
I"ll have my non-spoiler review out Monday once embargo lifts, maybe in the form of a livestream so I hope you'll join us for that!

Deadline reported, back in February, that playwright Duncan Macmillan went to George for extra details on what to include in the show.
If it's information coming from George then it'll be considered canon to the books, not the television show.
