This past weekend, we joined the Mar Vista Palms local of @LATenantsUnion in demanding that the Israni family and Ryan Yanulevich of Pacifica Companies (both San Diego residents) DROP Ellis Act evictions against the tenants of Árbol de Hierro at 11465 and 11473 Venice Blvd.

Epifania, an 86 year old tenant, is fighting a fifth eviction attempt. When landlords lose eviction cases in court, they can re-file and re-file, continually harassing the most vulnerable tenants.

The genocide in Gaza is not one tragic event in a stream of unrelated tragic events. It is a product of colonialism which itself is a product of capitalist imperialism.
