I bounce between both of these methods. I'm always designing "perfect" solutions in my head, but turd polishing looks and feels faster day to day.
what's your method of making software? a) polishing a turd: start from a scrappy prototype, add functionality and refactor as you go or b) killing your dreams: you design a perfect solution, in absence of earthly concerns such as time or cost. then you adapt the design for the real world, shedding a tear each time you have to make a compromise

I can't help it. People say the activation words at a family party and I black out. When I come to, I've sold them on the Steam Deck.

Got the kids in bed after watching a nativity video, reading scriptures, and finishing off with silent night. I love being on the dad side of Christmas and making faith building experiences for my kids πŸŽ„

Could use some prayers for this weekend for my family and I if any of you are willing. They'll be much appreciated.

Almost a year after being laid off, I've accepted a position at @INL! I'm so excited to be doing some really cool and meaningful work and bringing stability back to my family πŸ₯° Any tips on relocating? I've never had to relocate for work until now.

I wish I could just wrap my family in my arms and snuggle them until God puts a job offer into my lap. (this post was brought to you by my migraine, I know it doesn't work that way, I just hate still being unemployed)

This explains why candles wouldn't stay lit in my home office for more than a few minutes. I just thought my office was just stuffy so I tried candles for a bit thinking it would help but gave up because they kept going out. Oops.
I think @t3dotgg saved my life... For the past year, I've had severe brain fog. Unable to concentrate, unable to retrieve certain words, and constant complaints to my psychiatrist that I felt like I was only cognitively half there. Just a complete and total reduction in what I know I was capable of getting done. Lot's of tests, blood work, doctor visits, nothing... We assumed that it was just my Bipolar meds finally catching up and leading to cognitive decline. I've been stable on these meds for a few years and was faced with switching meds & the possibility of life shattering mania or trying to fight on with a cognitively empty tank. I fought on... I typically spend 10 hours a day teaching/streaming/working in my home office. Also, we have a guest bed in there, so it is not uncommon for me to nap/sleep over night in there too. One of my doctors recommended I check the air quality of the room in which I spend so much time, so I bought an air quality monitor and everything seemed fine. Fast forward to me seeing @t3dotgg post with their CO2 monitor and I had a lightbulb moment of panic wondering if my office has a build up of CO2 which would explain my cognitive issues... I checked my monitor and realized it only monitored CO AND NOT CO2. This whole time I thought I was in the clear and bought it specifically for CO2, but I had been looking at the completely wrong thing... I blame the cognitive impairment 😒 I bought TWO CO2 monitors and yeah... under my normal conditions I'm sitting at ~1800ppm and I've seen it spike to 2500 regularly "In fact, at 1400 ppm, CO2 concentrations may cut our basic decision-making ability by 25 percent, and complex strategic thinking by around 50 percent, the authors found." - colorado.edu/mechanical/2020… The science is a little all over, but safe to say I have been messing up my brain for a few years... Since I am teaching / streaming, my windows are closed and even my door has a dampening sheet to cut down on noise and echo. I'm looking into ways of bringing fresh air in without introducing noise and working with my doctors to help reverse the effects of what I've been going through... So PLEASE check your air quality esp CO2 If you are a content creator please get some fresh air and take some breaks while streaming/recording esp if in a "sound proof" room with all the windows closed for hours every day... 😭

We see the Limited Edition model as an experiment (both in terms of learning how to pull it off, as well as gauging customer demand). We’re hopeful that people are excited about this release, and if we see high demand it will give us confidence to do more colorways in the future.
