A woman carries her child in her womb for 9 months, endures all kinds of difficulties and pain, then bears the intense pain of delivery and sacrifices herself completely. Allah has given the highest status to a mother, higher than any other human being….yet sadly, in our society, when a child is born, the entire family is consulted to decide the name, and the mother has no right in this matter.
I wanted to name my child Mikael. I wasn't allowed to.

What happened to Dr. Mahnoor Nasir should shake us all. It is heartbreaking, horrifying and absolutely unacceptable.
A woman serving others in a hospital, a place meant for healing, was attacked while on duty… Dr. Mahnoor is not an isolated case.

Not all men but always a man. The attack on Dr. Mahnoor reflects the cruelty of misogyny and fragile male ego. Acid attacks are not acts of strength, they are cowardly attempts to punish women for living on their own terms. No wounded ego can ever justify such brutality!
