Exciting news! We're thrilled to announce our first Region 18 Spanish Spelling Bee 📷! This is a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase their Spanish spelling skills, build confidence, and have fun in a supportive environment.

On August 28, 2024, Region 18 hosted its inaugural Amazing Race: Federal Programs Summit, sponsored by Brainchild. Participants were treated to testimonials from Ms. Liz Murry and Mr. Ernesto Majia regarding homelessness and the importance of parent and family engagement.
A partnership was formed with Texas Education Service Centers, Texas Woman’s University, Texas Education Agency, and local educational entities to provide a master's degree program for both in-field and out-of-field students.

Great way to kickoff 2024 by opening our doors and welcoming the Midland ISD Special Education department hosting several breakout sessions throughout the day and welcoming our Math and RLA RBIS teachers back to work through their Professional Development sessions.

We held our 3rd day of Comprehensive Reading Academies for some of our Regional Teachers. We continue to help support and guide teachers throughout the year as they navigate through the Reading Academy course to ultimately impact students in Reading and Language Arts.
We held our Region 18 Superintendent Study Group Meeting today. We honored Ms. Jessica Harkins, Elementary Teacher of the Year, Terrell County ISD, and Ms. Michelle Cochrane, Secondary Teacher of the Year, Big Spring ISD. We also heard from Dr. Ray Perryman about our region.
