Okay, this whole chunk of his Parable of the Wicked Mammon is a vision of how the fullness of God in Christ just swamps our entire sense that we might work to earn things from God. All our works are dealings in a lesser economy. Tough reading (50 pages?) but wow.
When we read Scripture, we encounter God himself as he speaks to his people.
