Ss struggled to see sides and angles to determine which theorem to use. I had a fancy lesson planned and we went back to basics with highlighters and it was way more effective. Visually it helped with the congruence statements and order. #keepitsimple #middleschoolmath #geometry

Tearing up at open house! Tears of joy/ amazement as 2nd graders shared excitement for learning. It’s mid Sept. and I can’t wait to see the rest of the year take shape! The room was packed with families- this is a dream and absolutely the goal of education! @delatorretcs 💜

Our curriculum and standards changed, starting with functions is amazing! Today a S says, “So I use this function, plug in x’s, get y’s. I make a table or write as points and then I can graph those points. It’s quadratic b/c x^2, this is so easy!” #middleschoolalgerba #tcsmsmath

Always thankful for the student that unmutes their mic, has the guts to tell the whole virtual class they got the wrong answer, wants me to explain it again. One student did today and then 5 more were willing to unmute and start asking questions! #gettingthere #mathisanexhange

The man did something today that I’ve never done on the course. He knocked it in from 147 (with a 3 wood) for a 2 on a par 5!! Also took home first place! What a day! @uskidsgolf #albatross

I worried virtual would keep Ss from asking ?s and making mistakes that we can all learn from. BUT, today it happened! There were ?s and lots of- why cant we do it like this, or what if the degree is the same for the terms. We used all method and they were excited!!! #winning

Today was hard, but there was still a lot of good! Today my good thing, is 13 good things! These 13 kids work really hard all day, make me laugh, and remind me every 30 mins we need to wash and sanitize our hands! (They also still try to fly paper airplanes and tell weird jokes!)
