Earlier this year, I introduced the Federal Funds Whistleblower Protection Extension Act to protect taxpayer dollars by expanding federal whistleblower protections to state and local government employees. This legislation protects whistleblowers who report corruption and strictly prohibits government officials from retaliating. In light of reports that Walz & Ellison punished whistleblowers, it is more apparent than ever that we need criminal penalties for state officials who do so. If Walz and Ellison had listened to these individuals from the start, billions of taxpayer dollars could have gone to the most vulnerable Minnesotans. Walz and Ellison should resign immediately, and if they are found guilty of knowingly retaliating against whistleblowers, they should face jail time.

I joined my Minnesota House Republican colleagues in sending a letter to Attorney General Ellison and Governor Walz calling for their resignations. The recent House Oversight Committee's report strips away any doubt that Governor Walz and Attorney General Ellison not only turned a blind eye to the fraud, they actively protected it. Since 2019, they have silenced and intimidated whistleblowers who tried to sound alarms. Their negligence has turned Minnesota into a playground for criminals. The House Oversight Committee has exposed Tim Walz and Keith Ellison for their role in the rampant fraud across Minnesota's social programs. The report reveals that both state officials were aware of the widespread fraud, yet failed to address it. They even went so far as to retaliate against state employees who raised concerns. Walz and Ellison should be behind bars for punishing whistleblowers and for letting over $9 billion meant for vulnerable Minnesotans be taken by criminal fraudsters. It's time they "lear" what happens when you let fraud rule the state.

I had a productive meeting with Lincoln County officials to discuss how they are tackling rural issues head-on. From expanding rural broadband access to increasing daycare options to partnering with Hendricks Workforce Housing LLC for market-rate housing, they are working hard to attract families and employers!

It was great to get an update from local USDA FSA staff. They work face-to-face with operations spanning up to four generations. Our farmers deserve a system that works for them, which is why I support expanding training and resources to help folks navigate FSA applications and payment programs smoothly.

I met with city officials in Ruthton to discuss their sewer and water improvement project. I was able to help them secure $750,000 towards a water tower replacement, and after a hard-fought process pursuing bonding and grants, they have a plan to connect to Rural Water. This move will save taxpayers roughly $5 million. Proud of this local leadership!

I had a great visit with the team at Windom Area Health! Their collaborative leadership model between physicians and the city is a fantastic example of a strong community culture. I especially appreciate their work reaching out to underserved areas to ensure rural healthcare access isn't lost.

I stopped by Hank’s Foods to chat about their commitment to the Pipestone community. We also talked about the realities of running a rural grocery store, like competing with mega-corporations for talent recruitment and retention. I will always stand up for the small businesses that fuel Western Minnesota!

Today, we honor those who fought bravely in America’s largest sea and land operation to date. Their sacrifice was the turning point in World War II. We thank and remember the heroes of D-Day who served in the name of freedom.

A $5 trillion tax hike would have been an economic disaster for working families. Instead, the Working Families Tax Cuts permanently increased the Child Tax Credit to $2,200 per child and gave millions of families the certainty that comes with lower taxes and bigger take-home pay. @RepFischbach

My heart is heavy as I join the law enforcement community in mourning the loss of Lieutenant Tyler Uthe. Lt. Uthe was a respected leader and a dedicated public servant. His loss is felt deeply by all who had the privilege to serve alongside him, and his impact will never be forgotten. My prayers and deepest condolences are with Tyler’s family, loved ones, and fellow troopers during this incredibly difficult time.

House Republicans are cracking down on the broken systems and bad actors that let your hard-earned taxpayer dollars flow to fraudsters instead of vulnerable Americans. This week, I supported the Stop Child Care Scams Act to mandate penalties for states that fail to fix fraud in child care programs and to stop fraud from impacting children and families. Minnesotans know that every dollar lost to fraud is a dollar stolen from working families. It's time to bring basic accountability back to our programs.

I am proud to have voted for the FY 2027 Agriculture Appropriations bill. This legislation is a win for farmers, ranchers, and rural communities!

Staffing remains one of the biggest challenges facing rural Minnesota, and my visit with Ag Builders really drove that home. We discussed the need for qualified trade- and tech-trained workers. It’s great to see how they are partnering with local schools to strengthen tech education pathways.
