Months ago, I introduced legislation to stop Presidents from putting their signatures on U.S. currency because I knew Trump would try something like this.
But even I didn’t expect to wake up to reports that Trump is now trying to invent a completely made-up $250 bill just so he can slap his ugly face on it.
This is embarrassing for the country, and we must stop it.

The two suspects in a Monday shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego are dead, according to a police source. The Islamic Center is the largest mosque in San Diego County, according to its website. Aerial TV footage showed more than a dozen children holding hands and being walked out of the parking lot of the center that is surrounded by scores of police vehicles.

Trump’s handpicked Supreme Court Justices just rolled back key protections in the Voting Rights Act, one of our last lines of defense against racial discrimination in voting.
After decades of progress, they’re trying to dismantle the very freedoms civil rights leaders fought so hard to secure. We must act to defend these protections by passing the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act immediately.

NEWS: In a major 6–3 decision, the Supreme Court has struck down Louisiana’s congressional map that added a second majority-Black district, ruling it unconstitutional as a racial gerrymander. The opinion, written by Justice Samuel Alito, narrows how the Voting Rights Act is interpreted moving forward.
Justice Elena Kagan, in a sharp dissent joined by the Court’s other liberal justices, warned that the ruling weakens protections against racial discrimination in voting—arguing it allows states to dilute minority voting power “without legal consequence.” She described the decision as part of a broader trend that has steadily eroded key provisions of the Voting Rights Act since 2013.
While the Court did not overturn the law entirely, the ruling could have significant consequences. Louisiana is now likely to lose a Democratic-leaning district, and other states may revisit their own maps amid ongoing redistricting battles.
