According to new data from the @USTreasury, Americans who claimed the No Tax on Car Loan Interest deduction received an average deduction of more than $1,800. By allowing taxpayers to deduct up to $10,000 in annual interest on new vehicles built in America, we’re helping families keep more of their hard-earned money while supporting American manufacturing and American jobs. Made in America. Driven in America. Deducted in America. 🚘

Since Keokuk’s troubled hospital closed in 2022, my office has been working to re-establish care in the community through a Rural Emergency Hospital designation. I’ve met with local leaders, written letters, and fought for funding, because Lee County deserves access to quality emergency care close to home. That work is paying off. The $825,000 in Community Project Funding I secured has put Insight on a promising path toward reopening, and this week a key public meeting was held at City Hall to discuss next steps. I’m hopeful for the people of Lee County and will keep fighting until this gets done. 🏥🇺🇸

Six straight. Republicans have now won SIX consecutive Congressional Baseball Games! 🏆 But the real win? $3.2 million raised for charity. That’s what this game is all about. Great team effort all around, and a special shoutout to game MVP @SenEricSchmitt who left it all on the field. ⚾🇺🇸

Great meeting with Sarah Jelken of Cargill Starches, Sweeteners & Texturizers to discuss the company’s Edyville facility, which supports more than 500 jobs in IA01. Great meeting with Amsted Rail to discuss the vital role they play in supporting America’s freight and transit rail systems. Their Keokuk facility employs 210 hardworking Iowans with high-quality manufacturing jobs and helps strengthen our supply chains. We also discussed the importance of permitting reform and investing in critical infrastructure to support continued economic growth, strengthen our transportation networks, and keep Iowa manufacturing competitive.

Had a productive meeting with Iowa members of the Financial Services Institute to discuss expanding access to affordable, objective financial advice for hardworking Main Street Iowa businesses. I appreciated the opportunity to hear from Iowa financial advisors and firms and discuss ways to support local businesses and economic growth.

Usually you don’t wish yourself a happy birthday, but when the Army drops cupcakes off at your office ahead of their 251st this Sunday, it’s hard not to smile. As a 24-year veteran, I’m proud to celebrate with them. 🎂⭐🇺🇸

Honored to speak with students from Iowa and across the country who earned the Congressional Award Gold Medal, the highest honor Congress bestows on young Americans for service and self-improvement. These students exemplify a commitment to service, leadership, and personal growth. Congratulations! 🇺🇸

After years of radical leftist open border policies that allowed 10 million illegal immigrants into this country, record levels of crime, and deadly fentanyl flooding our communities, today we delivered. I voted to end the DHS shutdown and fully fund border security for the remainder of President Trump’s term. The border will be secured. No more excuses. No more shutdowns. No more open borders.

Had a great meeting with Tara Dunahoo of the Quad Cities, representing America’s Blood Centers. We discussed the critical role blood centers play in supporting patients, hospitals, and emergency responders. Maintaining a strong and reliable blood supply is essential to saving lives, and I’m grateful for the dedicated individuals who help make that possible every day.

Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D. retweeted
The U.S. is entering a nuclear renaissance. Advanced reactors are moving from concept to construction, retired plants are being restarted and our nuclear infrastructure is being rebuilt. In today's hearing, @RepMMM discussed how Congress has a narrow window to support innovation and ensure the United States continues to lead in the advancement of nuclear technologies.

June is National PTSD Awareness Month. The scars of trauma aren’t always visible, but they are real. This month, we honor those living with PTSD and recommit ourselves to fostering understanding, compassion, and support. If you or someone you know is struggling, resources are available through the National Center for PTSD and the Department of Veterans Affairs. Learn more, share resources, and help end the stigma surrounding mental health.

For police officers, corrections officers, firefighters, EMTs, and nurses, working overtime is part of the job. According to new data released by the @USTreasury, 29 million Americans have already claimed the benefit of No Tax on Overtime, with an average deduction of over $3,100. First responders work extra hours to keep our communities safe and they shouldn’t be punished for that. That’s why I fought for No Tax on Overtime because they deserve to keep more of what they earn.

According to new data released by the @USTreasury, 7.5 million Americans have already claimed the benefit of No Tax on Tips, with an average deduction of over $7,000. Nearly 90% of those claiming the deduction earned less than $100,000, providing meaningful relief to lower- and middle-class families and allowing for more money for grocery shopping, bills, and childcare.

I am deeply disappointed by Whirlpool’s decision to eliminate additional jobs in Amana. These workers helped build Whirlpool’s success. They deserve respect, transparency, and a company that makes good on its commitments to the community. My focus is on supporting affected workers and their families, and I will continue fighting to protect Iowa jobs and hold Whirlpool accountable to the people who made its success possible.
